If you have an Apple Watch, you might want to change things up by changing your watch face from time to time. One obstacle with this is that you are often left with a long list of faces that you will never use.. Fortunately, you can remove them just as easily.
How to remove a watch face on Apple Watch
Removing a watch face from your Apple Watch is as simple as adding a new one. To do this, make sure your Apple Watch is unlocked and the watch face is on the screen (as it's shown in the following, no windows or other applications open).
Long press on the watch face until you see the buttons “Edit” and share at the bottom of the screen. You can swipe left and right to choose different watch faces using this menu.
When you find a watch face that you want to remove, swipe up and touch “Remove”. This works the equivalent of how an app would end up on an iPhone or iPad. From here, you can choose a different watch face by sliding your finger left and right, later by touching it or pressing the digital crown to return to your previous watch face.
How to remove a watch face on iPhone
You can also remove watch faces in the Watch app on an iPhone..
First, start the app “Watch”, later touch “Edit” on “My faces”. To remove a face, tap the red icon to the left of the face followed by “Remove” to delete it. You can also change the order by taking the icon of the “Burger” to the right of the clock face (looks like three horizontal lines) and dragging up and down.
Try other watch faces
You can use the same technique to test new watch faces. Simply press and hold your watch face until you see the button “Edit” and share at the bottom of the screen, then slide your finger to the left until you reach the end of the list.
Touch the button “+” to add a new watch face, then use the digital crown to cycle through your options. When you're ready to add the watch face to your list, touch it. Don't forget to use the button “Edit” to add complications and change the theme.
You can quickly scroll through the watch face list without entering this menu. With your watch face on the screen, swipe left or right from the very edge of the screen to switch to a different watch face. If you don't slide your finger from the outer edge of the screen, this won't work.
More faces are added regularly
Apple always adds new watch faces to watchOS with every major update. If you haven't updated your Apple Watch recently (or you have automatic updates disabled), you can force an update in the Watch app.
To check for and install updates manually, start Watch on your iPhone, Touch “General” and touch “Software update”. All available software updates will be listed here, and you can tell your iPhone to download and apply the update the next time you connect your watch to a power source.
