How to delete screenshots on an iPhone or iPad

If your iPhone or iPad storage is full, or you just want to order it, it's easy to remove the screenshots you may not need on your device with the built-in Photos app. Here's how to do it.

First, open the Photos app on your iPhone or iPad. If you can't find it, swipe down from the center of the home screen to open Spotlight search. Writes “photos” and then tap the Photos app icon.

In Photos on iPhone, Touch “Albums” at the bottom of the screen and then select “Screenshots” of the list “media types”. (We will cover the iPad in the next step.).

In Photos on iPad, open the sidebar by tapping “Photos” in the upper left corner of the screen. After, select “Screenshots” from the section “media types”.

You are now viewing an album of all the screenshots stored on your device. To remove a single screenshot, tap its thumbnail to open it in detailed view.

When you have a screenshot open for a closer look, delete it by tapping the trash can icon in the lower left corner (iPhone) or upper right (iPad) from the screen.

To delete an image in Photos, tap the trash.

When asked to confirm in a pop-up menu, select “Delete photo”.

To remove multiple screenshots, go back to the Screenshots album overview showing thumbnails of all the screenshots you took. Next, touch the button “Choose” in the upper right corner of the screen.

You are now in selection mode. You can choose all the screenshots in the album by touching “Restore selected items”, or you can choose multiple screenshots by tapping on their thumbnails. When selected, each photo thumbnail will have a small circle with a check mark in the lower right corner.

You can also quickly choose a large number of screenshots by touching a thumbnail with your finger and holding it lightly while dragging it to the middle of the screen.. The list of screenshot thumbnails will start scrolling while selecting images. To stop choosing, raise your finger.

When you have selected all the screenshots you want to remove, tap the trash can icon in the corner of the screen. When asked to confirm, touches “delete photos”.

And that is! By default, The screenshots you just removed will be permanently deleted from your device in 30 days.

If you need to permanently remove screenshots before, first navigate to your album “you can remove single or multiple recordings at the same time in Voice Memos” in the Photos app. To get there on an iPad, open the sidebar and touch “you can remove single or multiple recordings at the same time in Voice Memos” on “Utilities”. On an iPhone, go to Albums> Recently Deleted.

When you see the gallery of your recently deleted screenshot thumbnails, you can select them individually and delete them with the button “Delete”. To remove all images “recently deleted” at the same time, Touch “Choose” in the corner of the screen and then select “Erase everything”.

Warning: There's no going back after touching “Erase everything” and confirm. The pictures of your folding “you can remove single or multiple recordings at the same time in Voice Memos” will be permanently lost.

When asked to confirm, touches “delete photos”. And there you have it: all your screenshots have been permanently deleted.

The only logical next step is to go back immediately and take a few more screenshots, and then follow this tutorial again. Have fun!
