Apple's Launchpad is a handy way to quickly launch applications on your Mac. By default, generally found in your Dock, but it can be removed. If you need Launchpad and can't find it, it's easy to add it back to the Dock. That's how.
Launchpad was first introduced in Mac OS X 10.7 Lion in 2010. If you have an old Mac that you have updated, or if you have removed Launchpad by dragging it out of the Dock, you may not see Launchpad where you expected it.
Even though it feels like a special part of macOS, Launchpad is just a normal app. To get it back, First we must open the Applications folder.
Switch to Finder, then select Go> Apps in the menu bar at the top of the screen. You can also press Shift + Command + A to open the Applications folder quickly.
Apps in Finder on Mac” width=”650″ height=”446″ onload=”pagespeed.lazyLoadImages.loadIfVisibleAndMaybeBeacon(this);” onerror=”this.onerror=null;pagespeed.lazyLoadImages.loadIfVisibleAndMaybeBeacon(this);”>
with the folder “Applications” open, look for the icon “Launchpad”. Click and drag it to the Dock.
As you get closer to the Dock, other apps will slide to the side, and when the Launchpad icon is where you would like, release the mouse or trackpad button. Launchpad will stay there.
The next time you need to use Launchpad, click on its icon in the dock and it will appear. And if at some point you lose it again, now you know how to get it back. Happy launch!
