By default, when you use the search function in Finder, has a strange habit of searching your entire Mac rather than just the current folder. Fortunately, you can make Finder always search the current folder by changing a setting on your Mac.
When Finder uses default settings, you must switch to current folder from top toolbar every time. This can be quite annoying.
You can change this behavior from Finder preferences.
First, open the Finder app. You can either click on the Finder icon in the Dock or you can use Spotlight's search function.
Then, in the upper left corner of the screen, select the button “Finder” in the menu bar. Later, choose option “preferences”.
Navigate to the tab “Advanced” from the top.
Here, haga clic en el menú desplegable debajo de la configuración “Al realizar una búsqueda” and choose the option “Buscar en la carpeta actual”.
And everything is ready. The next time you go to a folder in Finder and start looking, the current folder will be searched by default.
If you want to search all directories, simplemente elija la opción “Esta Mac” en la barra de herramientas de búsqueda.
