How to Quickly Launch a Mac Application with Spotlight

Are you tired of searching for an application on your Mac? With a quick keyboard shortcut, you can launch any application quickly from anywhere thanks to Spotlight Search. Here's how to use it.

The secret is command + space

If you want to quickly launch an application from anywhere on your Mac, press Command + Space on your keyboard, or you can click on the little magnifying glass icon on your menu bar.

A search bar will appear near the middle of your screen. This is Spotlight Search, which is Apple's name for its system-wide search technology.

In the search bar, type the name of the application you want to start. You will see all kinds of related results, but the item you are looking for must be near the top of the list.

Type the name of an application and press Return.

If the application you want to start is the first result, just press Return and the application will start.

If it's further down the list, click on its icon with the mouse or use the cursor keys to select it and press Return. The application will start instantly. It's so fast that once you get the hang of it, you may never use Launchpad or your Applications folder again.
