Do you find it too tedious to close each open application individually on your Mac? With Automator on Mac, you can create an app that closes all your running apps with one click. That's how.
How does this work?
The Automator app on Mac helps automate many of your routine tasks, including closing applications. You can create an application that closes all running applications and later pin it to the Dock.
Later, you can single click the custom app in the Dock when you want to close all your Mac apps. Very easy!

Close all running applications with one click on Mac
To start creating an application that closes all running applications on Mac, abra Automator. Do this by pressing Command + space bar to open Spotlight, writing “Automator” and selecting “Automator” in the results.

Next, The main Automator window will open. In the top left-hand corner, select “Actions”. Later, click the text box next to “Actions” and write “Exit all applications”.
An action called “Exit all applications” below the text box. Drag and drop this action onto the gray panel on the right. This adds the action to your application.
Automator will now allow you to configure your newly added action. In the section “Exit all applications” to the right of the Automator window, enable option “Request to save changes” if you want your app to ask to save changes before running apps are closed.
Later, in the section “No go out”, click on “Add” to add an application that should not be closed when you run your Automator application. As an example, if you want all your applications to close except your web browser, add your web browser here.
Save your application by clicking File> Save in the Automator menu bar.
