If you are a Microsoft Outlook user who regularly uses iGoogle as your control panel, Have you ever thought about combining the two? It's almost trivial to add your iGoogle page to Outlook and make it the home page.
Create a new folder by right-clicking anywhere in the folder tree and selecting “New folder”.
Give the folder a relevant name, something like iGoogle works.
Now right click on the new folder and choose Properties, and later in the Home page tab, check the box “Show default home page for this folder” and place it in the address box:
In any case, you can use any web page as your home page, no just iGoogle.
In this point, you should be able to see your iGoogle page just by clicking on the folder.
Set iGoogle as the default home page
Open the Options panel through Tools Options in the menu and then choose the Advanced Options button in the Others tab.
You will see a setting for “Start in this folder” with a Browse button next to it. Click that button and choose the iGoogle folder as your home page.
Now, when I start Outlook, will be taken directly to your iGoogle dashboard (you must log in the first time).
Thanks to our excellent reader Tim, who wrote to me telling me to write about this.
