Although Microsoft Word is not known for its photo editing capabilities, has some basic features that you can use, like image duplication. If you want to flip an image in Microsoft Word, this is what to do.
These steps should work for any recent version of Microsoft Word that you have, including Office Online and Microsoft 365.

If you want to flip a picture in Word, you will first need to open the document containing the image you want to manipulate. It can be any image inserted in your document. You can also do this with shapes or other drawings that you insert into Word.
To flip the image, make sure the image is selected by clicking on it. On the ribbon bar, select the tab “Format” in the section “image tools” (Launch Settings, and then touch “Drawing tools” for other types of images or objects).
From there, Click on the icon “rotate objects” in the section “Organize”. This icon may appear larger or smaller, depending on the available screen resolution and the size of the Microsoft Word window.
The image effect you selected will be applied to your image automatically.
Next, you can change the position of the image or make more changes through the menu “image tools” (O “Drawing tools”). As an example, you can erase the background of an image using the built-in removal tool offered in Microsoft Word.

If you want to reverse a flipped image, select the icon “Undo” located in the top left of the window immediately after applying the effect, o presione Ctrl + WITH (Cmd + Z and Mac) on your keyboard.
Alternatively, repeat the above steps to cancel the effect. As an example, if you use the effect “flip vertical” twice, this will return your image to its previous state.
