This trick works on both bulleted and numbered lists.

The format of a number in a numbered list is contained in the paragraph mark at the end of that element. Because, before changing the format of numbers in a numbered list, should show paragraph marks in your document. Click on the tab “Beginning” You have been asked to replace the word “Show / Hide ¶” in the Paragraph section.

To change the format of a number in the list, select only the paragraph mark at the end of that element.

After, you can format that paragraph mark and number.

As an example, we made the number in the first element red and bold in our example.

If you want to change the format of more than one number, but not of all, hold down the Ctrl key while selecting the paragraph marks for the numbers you want to change. After, apply the desired format.

If you want to change the format of all the numbers in the list, place the cursor directly on one of the numbers in the list and click. All numbers in the list are selected. Apply the format as usual.

When you format the items in the list, that format also applies to numbers. But in addition, the format that you applied only to the numbers is preserved. As an example, if we select the items from the list in our example and apply italics, the text of the items will be in italics, but the numbers will now be red, bold and italic. If you remove the formatting applied to the items in the list, the format you applied only to the numbers remains.

To remove specific formatting from numbers, follow these steps again to choose one of the numbers or multiple numbers and turn off the format.
