The Resume Assistant is enabled for Microsoft subscribers 365. It is a feature of Word for Microsoft 365 on both Windows and Mac. You can also use it with Word online using your personal account, but not with a work or school account. The tool is an English function.

Turn on the LinkedIn Resume Assistant in Word
You may already have the Resume Wizard enabled and ready to go. To verify, open a Word document and go to the Review tab. You should see the “Resume Wizard” on the right side of the tape.
If it is there, you can go to the next sections. If you don't see it, you can enable it with a few clicks on Windows and Mac.
Enable the Resume Wizard in Windows
With any open Word document, click the File tab and select “Choices” in the lower left corner.
In the Word Options window, select General on the left and go to LinkedIn Features on the right. Check the box “Enable LinkedIn features in My Office apps” and click OK.
Enable Resume Assistant on Mac
With any open Word document, click Word> Preferences on the menu bar. Please select “General”.
In the Settings area at the top, uncheck the box for “Turn off the Resume Wizard”. Then you can close the Preferences window.
Use the LinkedIn Resume Assistant in Word
You can use the Resume Wizard with a blank document, an existing resume or resume template. Go to the Review tab and click the “Resume Wizard” on the ribbon as shown above. A sidebar will open to the right of your document.
uncheck the box “Start”, make a note of the statement at the bottom of the sidebar on the right. If you agree and want to continue, go ahead and click “Start”.
Enter the role (job) and optionally, the industry, in the corresponding fields. When i start to write, you will see suggestions in a drop down list. Select the one that best suits your situation.
The rest of the sidebar will be populated with useful information for your resume depending on the position and the industry listed. (if you entered one).
Examples of work experience
Starting at the top, see examples of LinkedIn work experiences. These are little snippets of how you might express your experiences. Click on “Read more” to do exactly that for any of the examples.
You can also use the filter at the top of that section to narrow down the examples by main skills..
Main skills for the position
Below examples of work experience, you will see the top must-have skills for the position you are looking for. These are competencies that other job seekers in your field highlight on their resumes.
This is a good way to get an idea of the potential for skills that employers are looking for.. Add them to your resume if they apply to you.
Posts to help write your resume
Then, in the sidebar, there is a list of posts you can refer to for additional help. If you select a post, it will open in your default web browser where you can read it in its entirety.

Additional language enhancements
Before moving on to the next section, there is a switch you can toggle to get more help with writing your resume. This editor checks your resume in progress for style issues, inappropriate verbiage and more.

Suggested jobs
Then, you can take a look at the suggested jobs area of the sidebar. This shows the open positions, along with their titles, locations and descriptions. Expand the section to read more and see the link to see the work directly on LinkedIn.

In summary, has a link to go directly to LinkedIn and work on your profile. Click on “Get started on LinkedIn” to open it in your default web browser.
With your examples, lists and resources, LinkedIn Resume Assistant in Word is definitely important to highlight spending time writing or editing your resume.
