If your cursor keeps hovering over its target on your Windows desktop 10, the culprit could be a feature known as mouse acceleration. Disabling it could increase the precision of your pointer, allowing you to land on the spot at all times.
What is mouse acceleration?
Mouse acceleration in Windows 10 is a function that increases the distance and speed at which the cursor moves across the screen in response to the speed with which the physical mouse moves.
With mouse acceleration enabled, if you were to quickly move your physical mouse three inches, your cursor could travel from one side of the screen to the other. Despite this, if i moved the mouse exactly the same distance, just much slower, it is possible that the cursor only reaches the middle of the screen.
This feature is enabled on Windows devices 10 by default and the goal is to improve cursor precision. For many, has the exact opposite effect, especially for gamers. If you find this to be the case, you can disable it.
