What if you could use a Windows desktop PC without actually running Windows on your hardware? Microsoft has a solution for you: Windows 365, a cloud-based Windows desktop that you can access from any device, including Mac, iPads, Chromebooks, Android phones and Linux PCs.

To use a Windows “cloud PC” 365 after the launch of the service the 2 August 2021, you only need a device with a modern web browser. Your Windows desktop in the cloud retains its current state even when disconnected. If you are editing an Excel spreadsheet and you switch from a Mac to an iPad, as an example, you will instantly see the desktop status just as you left it when you reconnect so you can get back to work. It's like waking a PC from sleep mode.

The benefit is clear: you can run Windows applications without running Windows on your hardware. This means access to a full Windows desktop 10 and Mac, iPads, Chromebooks and more, as long as you have an internet connection. (When Windows starts 11, you will be able to enter a Windows desktop 11 in the same way).

At launch, Windows 365 It will only be available to companies and will have a monthly subscription cost per user. Microsoft offers a range of different hardware configurations at different prices, all hosted in Azure, Microsoft's cloud computing service. Companies will be able to easily launch PCs in the cloud, manage them and control access.

At launch, sole proprietorships are eligible. It's not just for large corporations with hundreds of workers, and it's easy to imagine that Microsoft will also offer the service to consumers in the future.

Other services already offer cloud-based desktop PCs that you can access in one browser for everything., from gaming to productivity, but now Microsoft offers its own solution.

For more details on Windows 365, see Sitio web de Microsoft Windows 365 Cloud PC or read the company's announcement.

Just don't mistake Windows 365 with Microsoft 365, a subscription service that is essentially a renamed version of Office 365 with some more features.
