Even the most careful people lose TV remotes sometimes, especially when they are as small as most remote controls for streaming devices. Google TV devices can controlled from an app on your android mobile, so you always have a backup.
At the end of 2020, the Google Play Movies app & TV fue rebautizada en Android simplemente como “Google TV” para acompañar el lanzamiento del dispositivo de transmisión de Chromecast con Google TV. That is the application you can use to control your Google TV.

Remote control from the Google TV app
First, open the Google TV app on your Android phone or tablet. Look for a floating remote button in the lower right corner.
Next, Touch “android mobile” en la parte de arriba y elija su dispositivo Google TV.
Ingrese el código que se muestra en el televisor y toque “Match” para conectar el control remoto.
You now have a working remote control on your phone!! You can switch between a slider remote or a d-pad from the three-dot menu icon in the top right.
Remote control from quick settings
The even easier method to open the remote is from the Quick Settings menu. First, follow the steps above to do the initial setup. Next, swipe down twice from the top of the screen and tap the pencil icon.
Busque el mosaico “Control remoto de TV” y manténgalo presionado, then drag it to the top tile section.
Release your finger to snap the tile into place, then tap the back arrow at the top left to finish.
¡Ahora puede tocar el mosaico “Control remoto de TV” en la Configuración rápida para abrir el control remoto desde cualquier lugar!
Both methods are great for those times when you can't find the remote or just prefer to use your phone.. Searching for a specific app can be tedious, so it is also good to have the Quick Settings option.
