What is the difference between Waze Carpooling and Uber / Lift?

Contents

There are many transportation options when you need transportation. You can always go for Lyft or Uber for a quick fix. But, What about carpooling services like Waze Carpool O UberPool? Next, Here's how to determine which one is best for you.

What is Waze Carpool?

Waze Carpool is exactly what it sounds like: carpooling and being able to use the carpool lane. It is not a service intended to receive attractions. Instead, has a simple purpose: match drivers and passengers seeking to use the carpool lane. The carpool lane, also known as lane for high occupancy vehicles (OOPS, for its acronym in English) or passenger lane, is strictly designed for vehicles with 2 or more passengers.

As such, it is often empty, which means that, in theory, you could navigate the highway using that particular lane and get to your destination faster than the others, but if you do it while driving alone, you face a potentially hefty fine.

Waze Carpool enables you to sift through a selection of potential drivers, filtering by criteria like coworkers, genres and more to find the Waze users that best suit your needs. It's as simple as that.

The Waze Carpool app is a separate service from the Waze traffic app, so make sure you get the correct one from the app store.

Despite this, setting up your account is not that simple. Waze Carpool only allows you to log in with Facebook or Google, which means that you will not be able to create a specific account for the application. If you are not comfortable linking your Waze Carpool account to one of these profiles, you will have to create a disposable profile for any of the platforms. It's a frustrating aspect of the app. Conversely, Uber and Lyft allow you to create separate accounts.

At the same time, please note that a photo must be taken to finalize the registration procedure, so keep this in mind when you log in for the first time.

How is Waze Carpool different from UberPool?

Waze Carpool isn't the only carpool service out there. Uber also has a ride-sharing feature called UberPool. Unlike Waze Carpool, UberPool works as part of the normal application. Appears as an additional option when you enter your pickup and destination.

Uber is much easier to set up for the first time than Waze CarPool and will allow you to create an account without linking it to your Google or Facebook profiles.. At the same time, se an anima, it is not forced, to upload a photo.

UberPool also offers a more uniform and professional service than Waze Carpool. Con Waze, They are not hardworking professional drivers to take you; instead, they are the regular users who share their vehicles with you.

The UberPool feature enables you to select a destination and confirm a request for a driver heading the same way as you, plus probably using the carpool lane, just like Waze Carpool. In this way, you get a much cheaper ride than you would get if you used a strict pick-up and drop-off service like regular Uber or Lyft. As the official UberPool web portal says, “expect additional pickups and drop-offs throughout your trip”.

Note: Lyft previously featured a Lyft Carpool option for travelers in the San Francisco Bay Area, but the company quickly closed the show after so few drivers participated. It was available for only five months before being deleted.

What is the difference between Carpool and Uber services / Standard Lyft?

Apps like Uber and Lyft are strictly for requesting rides. Both are used as taxi services, where you can request to be picked up and dropped off at particular locations. While you're still getting into a stranger's car, just like in Waze Carpool, the express purpose of both services is to get you from point A to point B instead of taking advantage of the gap in the carpool lane.

Your travel rate is automatically calculated within the app, and your driver will pick you up to take you where you need to go. There are no complicated rules of the road to pay attention to, and the length of your trip is up to you depending on where you need to go. It is more appropriate to use Lyft or Uber in situations where you may need a ride to the airport, an elevator to pick up a rental car or just when you are in town and don't want to use public transport.

It also works great when you are exploring another city and have trouble finding or hailing a taxi.. With regular Lyft and Uber rides, You will not have to worry about making several stops to pick up other passengers., like when you choose to be part of a shared ride.

Taking into account these differences, you should be able to choose which app is most appropriate for your situation. Happy travels!
