Private browsing mode in Safari enables you to view sites without adding anything to your history on your iPhone and iPad. Here are four different ways to open a private tab in Safari when you need it.
When you use a private tab, Safari doesn't store your browsing history, autocomplete your information, suggest recent searches or save cookies once you close the tab.
With iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 several changes arrived, including how you can use private browsing mode in Safari. Having said this, there are easier and less recognized ways to quickly open a private tab in Safari on your iPhone or iPad.

Use the drop-down menu on the Safari toolbar
To start, open Safari on your iPhone or iPad. On the iPhone, touch the button “pages” (cascading squares icon) in the lower right corner.
You will see a window or web page management screen with the grid of thumbnails representing the open tabs. The toolbar at the bottom will show the option “Tab groups” with a drop-down button next to it. Touch the drop down button.
Select option “Private” in the menu that appears to switch to private browsing mode.
Select the “+” at the bottom left to open a new private tab. The touch “Ready” in the lower-left corner if you are opening a private tab for the first time.
On the iPad, you will need to tap on the option “Sidebar” in the top left-hand corner.
When the sidebar panel opens, choose option “Private” to turn on private browsing mode and open a new private tab.

Use the Pages button on the Safari toolbar
A quick way to open a private tab in Safari is to use the “pages” on the bottom toolbar of your iPhone.
Turn on Safari. Press and hold or press the button hard “pages” (cascading squares icon).
Select option “New private tab” with a hand icon next to it in the menu that appears.
You will need to follow the same method on the iPad by tapping the button “pages” (four squares) in the upper right corner, and then select “New private tab”.

Utilice 3D Touch o Haptic Touch
You can open a private tab directly from the Safari app icon using hard press or long press gesture with 3D Touch or Haptic Touch function. 3D Touch is enabled only in the above modes (prior to iPhone 11).
Long press or hold the Safari app icon on the home screen.
Please select “New private tab” in the menu that appears.
Follow the same on iPad.
Note: IPhone models from iPhone 6s to iPhone X (including XS) son compatibles con 3D Touch. All iPhone models from iPhone XR and above are compatible with Haptic Touch.
