Worried that your iPhone apps are listening using your device's built-in microphone?? If so, it's easy to know for sure, and revoke access to the microphone if necessary, consulting a list in Settings. Here's how to do it.
First, open the app “Setting”.
On “Setting”, touches “Privacy”.
On “Privacy”, touches “Microphone”.
On the next screen, you will see a list of installed apps that have previously requested access to your microphone. Each app has a switch next to it. If the switch is “has the international standard symbol for a power button on or next to it” (verde), the app can access your microphone. If the switch is “off” (the attenuated), the app cannot access your microphone.
If you want to delete an app's access to your microphone, tap the switch next to it to turn it off. In the same way, if you want an app to access your microphone, turn on the switch.
When it's over, get out of “Setting” and your changes will take effect immediately.
It is important to note that if you are running iOS 14 onwards, you can tell when an app is using your microphone if there is an orange dot in the status bar in the upper right corner of your iPhone screen. (There is a green dot, means your camera is in use).
If at any time you feel like an app is using your microphone when it shouldn't, just visit Settings> Privacy> Microphone as detailed above and revoke the app access by moving the switch to its side to “off”. Good luck!
