How to add voting options to an email in Microsoft Outlook

Contents

Whether you're trying to choose what kind of pizza to order for a meeting or voting on something more important, a survey makes it easy. Many tools provide this ability, from a simple survey in Slack to a full survey in SurveyMonkey. Outlook voting buttons provide a simple and easy way to poll people if they are all in your Outlook contacts.

When you compose a new email in Outlook, switch to tab “Choices” and click the drop down menu “Utilizar botones de votación”.

If one of the default alternatives meets your needs, click on it to add it to your open message.

If the defaults are not what you need, click on “Personalized” para abrir la ventana Propiedades del mensaje. The option “Utilizar botones de votaciónya está seleccionada (because you opened the window from that menu), therefore just type the answers you want to appear in the field, separated by semicolons.

Click Close and the voting alternatives will be added to the email., junto con un mensaje sobre el campo “For”.

That's all about it. Send the email to your voters and they will see a message telling them to reply using the vote button..

Once the recipient has made their choice, a box appears that verifies the survey solution and gives you the option to add additional information in your answer.

When you receive the solution, will contain a message telling you how they voted.

Despite this, keeping track of individual responses is not much fun, so Outlook does it. Open the original email you sent and click Message> Follow Up. There is a list of answers and a total for each of the alternatives.

This is not the most striking survey response, but every now and then it doesn't need to be flashy. If you just need a quick vote of your Outlook contacts, so it's a solid alternative that doesn't need your voters to log into another tool or browse another web interface.
