Diet doesn't have the best reputation for privacy and, by default, all your activities are public and visible to all. Despite this, you can change the privacy settings in any activity.
The three options are:
- Visible to all, regardless of whether they have a Strava account or not
- Visible to your followers
- Only visible to you
We suggest that you follow our guide to lock Strava privacy settings so that, at most, only your approved followers can see your activities. Despite this, if you want to appear in the Strava segment leaderboards, Your activities (or at least the best) must be public. Here's how to manage it.

If you have used Strava for a while and want to bulk edit the privacy settings of your past activities, you can only do it through a web browser. Head over to Strava and go to Settings> Privacy. On “Edit past activities”, select “Activity visibility” and, next, click on “Next”.
Please select “Everybody”, “Followers” O “Only you”, then click on “Next”.
Confirm your choice and Strava will update the privacy settings for all activities at the same time. If there is any activity that you want to be public so it can appear in a leaderboard, you can re-edit your privacy settings individually.
