Credit card blocking

It seems that every day there is some trick or leak that causes personal data to be leaked. Sometimes, it's just a name or phone number, but in the last attack involving SCUF Gaming, people's credit card information was stolen.

Simply, SCUF's web portal was attacked by a web skimmer, which allowed malicious people to extract the personal information of people who made credit card purchases through the SCUF Gaming online store. Threat actors access a compromised online store, which enables them to collect and steal customer information.

With this attack of the 3 february, hackers used login credentials belonging to a third-party provider to gain unauthorized access to SCUF Gaming's backend, allowing you to position the skimmer and get the information you wanted. For this case, credit card numbers were included, Cardholder Name, email address, Billing Address, expiration date and CVV.

The 18 february, their payment processors alerted SCUF of unusual activity, and the 16 March payment skimmer found and removed. That means only purchases made between the 3 February and 16 March are at risk. At the same time, SCUF mentioned that PayPal transactions were not compromised.

Total, SCUF Gaming told the Maine Attorney General's Office that 32,645 people were affected, according BleepingComputadora.

SCUF has started sending emails to people whose data was compromised by the attack., so you should have received an email if you were a victim. The company also sent emails in May warning of a possible attack..

Even if you did not make a purchase within the previously mentioned dates, you need to be careful and monitor the card you used to make sure there are no unauthorized transactions.
