Regularly, Windows 10 will automatically set the most recently used printer as the default printer. For some people, this can be annoying. Fortunately, you can disable this feature and manage your default printer manually. That's how.
How to prevent Windows 10 automatically change your default printer
First, abra “Setting” clicking on the menu “Beginning” and selecting the gear icon on the left. Or you can press Windows + i on your keyboard to quickly open it.
In Settings, click on “Devices”.
In Devices, select “Printers and scanners” in the sidebar menu.
In the settings “Printers and scanners”, scroll down and uncheck the box next to “Let Windows manage my default printer”.
Thereafter, you may want to stay in Settings to manually change your default printer; see instructions below. Opposite case, get out of “Setting” and the change you just made will take effect immediately.

If Windows settings are not open yet, open it and navigate to Devices> Printers and scanners.
First, scroll down and find the option “Let Windows manage my default printer” (see previous section). If the box next to it is checked, unmarked. You must disable this feature to manage your default printer manually.
Thereafter, scroll up on the same page of “Setting” and locate the list of “Printers and scanners” installed on your system. Click on the printer you want to set as the default, then click the button “Manage”.
When the individual printer configuration page appears, Click the button “Set as default”.
(If you don't see this button, go back to the previous page and uncheck “Let Windows manage by default printer”).
Thereafter, the printer you selected will be set as your default printer. Exit Settings and print as much as you want. Just be careful with that expensive ink. Happy printing!
