Windows Terminal is an amazing application on Windows 11 which allows you to enter different types of command shells, All in one place. Opens with PowerShell by default, but if you prefer new tabs to open at command prompt, it's easy to change. That's how.
First, run Windows Terminal. You can quickly find it by right-clicking the Start button and selecting “Windows Terminal” in the menu that appears.
When the Windows Terminal application opens, click the down-facing caret next to the plus sign in the tab bar. In the menu that appears, select “Setting”.
When the Settings tab opens, select “Beginning” in the sidebar. On the home settings page, click on the drop-down menu labeled “Default profile”.
In the Default Profile drop-down menu, select “Symbol of the system”.
To end, click on “Keep” in the lower right corner of the window.
Thereafter, close the Settings tab. The next time you open Windows Terminal or create a new terminal tab by clicking the plus button (“+”), a command prompt will open. Happy piracy!
