Windows Paint application 11

Microsoft's Paint app is getting a substantial redesign in Windows 11. It seems as if Microsoft has opened the lid of its paint can to give the Paint application a new coat of paint that makes it look quite different from the application we know. (and I hardly use) in Windows 10.

Panos Panay knows how to get our attention, as Microsoft's Product Manager is constantly releasing teaser videos for new Windows features 11. In his latest sneak peek, Panay showed Paint on Windows 11, and it looks pretty promising.

The interface looks quite different from the Paint app we know and love, but it doesn't seem like it has changed too much in terms of functionality. The only notable new features you can see in the video teaser they are a dark mode and the option to change the text alignment. Opposite case, still a basic imaging tool.

Some Windows users like the core functionality of Paint, so it makes sense that Microsoft doesn't want to change too much about it. Despite this, it would have been nice to see some improvements to the main functionality. We don't expect Paint to replace more powerful image editing tools like Photoshop., but some more powerful features would have been great.

According to Panay, new Paint app is coming soon to Windows Insiders, so we will be able to dig deeper and see if there are new features hidden within the application that the video did not show. Despite this, we are relatively sure that it is almost the same application with a Windows look and feel 11.
