Sometimes you end up taking photos that are reflected horizontally. This is quite common when taking selfies.. Do you want to change the direction of a photo (or a face)? Here's how to flip photos on iPhone and iPad.
The photo editor on the iPhone and iPad comes with a built-in tool to flip photos horizontally. (sideways). It's the fastest way to flip mirrored selfies. But if you want to flip the photos vertically (upside down), you will need to use a free third-party app like Photoshop Express. We will cover both methods below.
Mirror Photos Horizontally Using Photos on iPhone and iPad
The built-in Photos app on the iPhone and iPad hides a fairly robust photo editor. One of its hidden features is the flip image button.

To start, open the photo you want to flip on your iPhone or iPad. Later, from the top, touch the button “Edit”.
From the bottom toolbar, go to Crop section.
Here, tap the Flip horizontally button in the upper left corner of the screen.
The image will flip instantly.
Touch the button “Ready” to save the image.
By default, your iPhone or iPad will overwrite the original image. If you want to save the mirrored photo as a new image, we suggest you duplicate the original image first.
Flip photos with Photoshop Express on iPhone and iPad
Photoshop Express is a feature-rich photo editing app on your iPhone or iPad. Somehow, you can think of it as the mobile version of Photoshop app. While many of its professional features are hidden behind a subscription, you can use the free version for simple edits.
One of the features available in the free version is the ability to flip images both vertically and horizontally..
To start, open the app and give it permission to access your photos. Now, from the Home tab, go to section “Edit”. Here, choose the photo you want to edit.
From the photo edit view, go to tab “Trim”. From here, choose option “Rotate”. Swipe left to see the "Flip horizontally" and "Flip vertically" options.
Now, you can flip the image as you like.
Once i'm done, touch the button “Share” on the top toolbar.
Here, touch the button “Camera Roll”. The flipped image will be exported and saved in the Photos app.
